Happy New Year
Written by ladylincoln
At Jan 2, 2008, 5:33:45 AM
This year passed by so quickly, it is hard to believe that another year is upon us. I must thank everyone (old and new) for the continued support & and friendship. May there be many, many more years of happiness and joy in the upcoming years and in years to come.
Forgive me for lack of updates, been keeping busy with my projects and so forth. I hope everyone is well.

Forgive me for not updating here as I rightly should. I'm spending more time away irl and of course on DA - since much has happened...I have become a "senior member" and it is still quite an honor for me.
I also celebrated my third wedding aniversary, my five years award ceremony at work, and have much progress on my latest novel.

I am having quite an eventful summer so far! I had a lovely vacation - and have completed several projects that I have been working on since winter. I hope to begin posting the segments soon. I am working an a unique anniversary edition of a special novel that I wrote several years ago, back in 1997! It is so hard to believe what an author's own characters can recall in one's own memory.
Happy Birthday to me, Happy birthday to me!

Our American Summer

Welcome to the heart of summertime!
For those of you who I had not informed, I have just retured from the DC area, and had a great time. The city was always booming - the monuments were even far more beautiful than I had ever dreamed they would be, and the Maryland beach was just glorious. I hated to go, but I missed the quiet, peacefulness away from the city that I find here at home.
For the most part, the folks were friendly and helpful to us - but you must certainly believe everything that they say about the Washington D.C. downtown area. It was wonderful to walk and explore - but the driving left much to be desired. Of course, we spotted the White House and it was as beautiful as I always knew it would be. My favorite areas where of course the Lincoln Memorial and Ford's Theatre - which ironically enough was closed on the first day that we drove/walked over to visit and re-opened on the warm morning of our last day in the capitol. There was a warm, somewhat odd inspiring feeling to be standing right under the Presidential box...
I will also never forget the fullfillment I felt upon seeing the Lincoln memorial for the first time in my fourteen years of study...and the awe that it contines to bring to those who are fortunate enough to gaze upon it...it is a special moment in my life that I will never, ever wish to forget.

Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer

Summer is on the way, along with new updates, new friends, new ventures and as always...keeping an eye out for updates and news...if there is anything that you need posted, let me know and I will help spread the word. Any new writers that stop by, please feel free to introduce yourself, old hats like me would love to meet you!
If there are any prose related clubs here, do send some info my way - if not - if anyone is interested in starting one, let me know. I would also like more information about the website specifics; such as setting up future themes, spreading news about the website, and forum news.
I generally post on Deviantart.com, another wonderful art related website such as this - I was surprised to learn of so many prose related websites...but I hope to gain some wonderful experiences here as well. As I have only been here alittle over a month, I have felt warmly welcomed.
Featured Writer of the Month:
An admin to S.A.N, but no stranger to us - he is akin to several different genres of writing, and has a talent for detail and a knack for keeping us thirsting for more...
